  • 1 cup of egg whites (about 8 large eggs)

  • 1 cup of granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon of cream of tartar

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract

  • 1 cup of cake flour

  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt

    Instructions For Making Angel Food Cake:

    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

    • Gradually add granulated sugar, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form. Mix in vanilla and almond extracts.
    • Sift the cake flour and salt together, then gently fold into the egg white mixture in batches, being careful not to deflate the batter.
    • Pour the batter into an ungreased baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the cake is lightly golden and springs back when touched.
    • Remove from the oven and invert the pan immediately to cool the cake upside down until completely cooled.
    • Once cooled, carefully run a knife around the edges to release the cake from the pan. Slice and serve.
